Securing Digital Learning for Decodable Readers Australia

We're proud to partner with Decodable Readers Australia (DRA Online), the structured literacy platform now relied on by 1,500 Australian schools, 28,000 teachers, and 265,000 students.
As DRA Online's platform reached deeper into school and government environments, the security expectations from those buyers grew with it. They needed continuous coverage beyond business hours and a compliance posture mature enough for government contracts. Sustaining both with a small in-house team wasn't realistic, and building an internal SOC wasn't the right move for a business their size. They partnered with Secure ISS in 2025 to close that gap.
Inside the partnership
The three-layer Lumara stack running across DRA Online's AWS environment, and what each piece actually does
How DRA Online got 24/7 SOC coverage and governance uplift without hiring a security engineer
Why 24-hour incident detection is now the bar for Australian edtech selling into government and schools
How Secure ISS designed the stack, stood up the monitoring, and now defends DRA Online's platform around the clock

The full case study covers how the Lumara stack came together, what 24/7 SOC coverage looks like day-to-day for a small edtech team, and what the new posture means for DRA Online's growth into government and school environments.
