Strengthening Cyber Resilience for Toowoomba Grammar School

We're proud to partner with Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS), one of Queensland's oldest and most prestigious schools. Since late 2021, we've worked alongside the school's IT team to defend a 150-year-old institution that serves 1,200 students, 300 boarders, and operates around the clock.
As a boarding school, TGS runs 24/7, but the school's existing protective controls didn't extend far beyond business hours. With a small in-house IT team already balancing infrastructure and daily support, TGS needed a way to detect and respond to incidents at any hour, give school leadership clearer cyber risk reporting, and cut through alert fatigue. Building that capability internally wasn't realistic. They partnered with Secure ISS in late 2021 to close that gap.
Inside the partnership
How Secure ISS designed, deployed, and now runs Managed SIEM across TGS's servers, firewalls, Microsoft 365, and staff endpoints from our sovereign SOC
The layered stack we've stood up over four years: SIEM/SOC, Continuous Vulnerability Assessment, Tripwire file integrity monitoring, SentinelOne IR, and (since 2024) vRx automated patching
What four years of after-hours protection looks like in the numbers: 7.2 billion events processed, 67,000+ interactions with known malicious IPs, 54 confirmed offences, zero high-impact incidents requiring escalation beyond SOC containment
How Secure ISS supports Ron Robinson and TGS leadership beyond monitoring, from board-level cyber reporting to strategic input on the school's broader posture

The full case study covers the layered stack now running across TGS's environment, the SLAs that govern incident response across four severity levels, and what four years of continuous monitoring has surfaced inside the school's environment.
